Ms Angela Ewing has been a counselling psychologist for over 18 years, after completing her Honors degree in the Northern Territory. Her first position after graduating was with Relationships Australia where she gained highly valued training and experience as a relationship counsellor. Angela returned to Melbourne to work in the Division of Gaming and Racing, developing policy and research around problem gambling.
Working in further fields, such as employment in her own private practice and providing employment assistance to disability clients in rural communities, Angela strongly values the importance of relationship and family dynamics in finding solutions.
It is a priority for her to provide a warm and comfortable environment for people to explore the issues that are impacting their lives. Angela is constantly refining her skills to help clients develop more effective ways to cope and develop new skills to break unhelpful behaviour patterns. She offers psychological interventions for those wishing to overcome depression and anxiety or alleviate trauma reaction, those seeking support in grieving, or wishing to resolve relationship conflicts. Further indications are, inappropriate handling of alcohol and other drugs as well as over-working and burnout. Short and long-term therapies are available, as required.
Angela’s life experience, her nonjudgmental attitude, and her comfortable style helps to relax her clients and help them feel secure. It is always her aim to offer a high standard of counselling characterised by her on-going training, peer supervision, interdisciplinary support, and a foundation in evidence-based therapy.
