Types of Treatment Modalities Used:
I believe I have a client centred approach as I aim to work collaboratively with clients on their goals. Through active listening, empathy, unconditional positive regard and warmth I hope to establish a trusting rapport with clients to enable counselling to be beneficial and valuable to them, hence meeting their need for improved functioning. I therefore tend to take a fluid approach to therapeutic modalities, drawing upon many to address the clients needs at that time. Such modalities include CBT, ACT, Mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Schema Therapy.
