Experience

Jake is a registered General Psychologist with over six years of psychological training and experience working in private, workplace injury, and community settings with people across the lifespan. Jake can assist you with issues, including, but not limited to: depression, anxiety disorders, stress, trauma, relationship counselling, self-esteem, men’s mental health, adjustment disorders, grief and loss. He has a special interest and expertise in working with young men (18 – 29).

Jake works hard to achieve tangible and positive outcomes with his clients through transparency and joint collaboration. He achieves this with a focus on developing a deep understanding of a person’s circumstances and how they may significantly affect their mental health. He then uses this to apply effective evidence-based treatment and engage with them to reach agreed-upon outcomes.

A key strength of Jake’s is his ability to adapt and engage with his clients in a highly approachable, humble and compassionate way. He acknowledges that change looks different for everyone and that everyone’s journey is deeply personal and just as important as anyone else’s. As such, he believes that therapy should focus on the client’s specific and transient circumstances so that they may live their most fulfilling life. He prides himself on his open and nonjudgmental approach to any and all mental health difficulties and is LGBTQI+ friendly.
