Michael has over 35 years of consulting psychology experience in which he has worked with a vast range of clients in a variety of industries both locally and internationally. He has had a range of experiences in organisations, education, sport, and individual personal development. More recently he has decided to use his vast experience and return to his core capability based upon the principles of Developmental Psychology.

Michael has a unique ability to work with individuals from all walks of life from a CEO in the heart of the Melbourne CBD through to a frontline operator at a mine site in northern Queensland. Over the many years of psychological experience, Michael has been able to develop close relationships with his clients such that he has become a trusted clinician and typically continues to work with his clients over long periods of time.

His driving philosophy in his approach to psychology is a firm belief in the untapped potential of people and that the role of an effective psychologist is facilitating the growth of that potential and therefore maximizing an individual’s ability to handle and manage life’s experiences.

An interaction with a psychologist is often a reaction to a perceived mental health issue, Michael’s view is that there is a need to switch this perspective to a more proactive one where the goal of therapy is to develop life skills to build the psychological capability necessary to handle the volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous nature of the world we live in.

Michael takes a fully integrated approach to his therapeutic approach and selects methods and approaches that meet the clients where they are at.
