Belinda Ellis

Experience

With over 15 years working within complex and high-risk clinical settings, Belinda brings a depth of unique and diverse experience to her practice. Her expertise spans child development, disability, mental health and forensics, providing a broad understanding of human experience across the lifespan.

Belinda’s practice is built around comprehensive psychological assessment, including cognitive (IQ), neurodiversity, psycho-legal and risk evaluations for children, adolescents and adults. She adopts a client-centred approach to assessment, providing reports that are detailed, evidence-based and grounded in practical recommendations for clients, families, educators and other professionals.

Alongside her assessment work, Belinda provides evidence-based psychological treatment, drawing on her extensive clinical background to tailor support to each individual’s needs and goals. She practises across a range of therapeutic modalities, including Schema Therapy, ACT, EMDR, CBT and DBT.

As an AHPRA Board Approved Supervisor and university academic mentor, Belinda is deeply invested in the integrity and growth of the profession. Her commitment to clinical governance, human rights and ethical practice is evident throughout her work — from the warmth she extends to every client, to the high quality of assessment and treatment she provides.

Clients can expect to feel genuinely heard, respected and supported throughout their time with Belinda, from their first appointment through to the achievement of their goals.

Assessments Provided

Autism Spectrum Disorder Assessment – Child

  • ADOS‑2 Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (2nd Edition) completed with the client
  • Clinical interview with the client, parent or caregiver, along with additional assessment questionnaires (e.g. ADI-R, SRS‑2, BRIEF-2, ABAS-3)
  • Clinical observation in childcare or school setting for child clients (where possible)
  • Additional psychometrics with client where relevant (i.e., anxiety scales)
  • A comprehensive written report and a feedback session are included in the cost of the assessment
  • Three sessions in total

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

  • Conners 4, DIVA-5 or Young DIVA-5 completed with the client, child or caregiver
  • Clinical interview with the client, parent or caregiver, along with additional assessment questionnaires (e.g. BRIEF-A, BRIEF-2, ABAS-3)
  • Clinical observation in childcare or school setting for child clients (where possible)
  • Additional psychometrics with client where relevant (i.e., anxiety scales)
  • A comprehensive written report and a feedback session are included in the cost of the assessment
  • Two to three sessions in total

Cognitive Assessment (IQ)

  • WPPSI-IV, WISC-V or WAIS-5 completed with the client
  • Clinical interview with the client, parent or caregiver, along with additional assessment questionnaires (e.g. BRIEF-A, BRIEF-2, Vineland, ABAS-3)
  • Additional psychometrics with client where relevant
  • A comprehensive written report and a feedback session are included in the cost of the assessment
  • Two sessions in total
