Dr Daryl Marchant is an experienced psychologist with over 25 years’ practice across clinical, educational and high-performance settings. He specialises in comprehensive psychological assessment, including cognitive (IQ), ADHD, learning, personality and vocational evaluations for children, adolescents and adults.

Daryl has extensive experience working with individuals, families, schools and organisations, and has also worked within elite sport, contributing to psychological profiling and performance assessment in AFL environments. This breadth of experience informs a practical, real-world approach to assessment that goes beyond test scores to provide meaningful, applied insights.

His assessment process is thorough, evidence-based and person-centred, with a strong emphasis on understanding each individual’s unique strengths, challenges and context. Reports are clear, detailed and focused on practical recommendations that can be used confidently by clients, families, educators and other professionals.

Assessments Provided

Pre-Assessment / Intake Screening (Child or Adult)

  • Clinical intake interview and brief screening questionnaires (typically 3–6).
  • Integration of information to determine appropriate assessment pathway.
  • A brief written summary report with recommended next steps and verbal feedback.

ADHD Assessment (Child or Adult)

  • Clinical intake interview (parent/caregiver included for children).
  • ADHD rating scales (e.g., Conners-4, CAARS) and questionnaires.
  • Evaluation of attention, impulsivity and executive functioning.
  • An extensive written report with diagnostic formulation, recommendations and feedback.

Intellectual / Cognitive (IQ) Assessment (Child or Adult)

  • Clinical intake interview and screening questionnaires as required.
  • Administration of a cognitive (IQ) assessment (e.g., WPPSI-IV, WISC-V, WAIS-IV).
  • An extensive written report outlining cognitive profile, recommendations and feedback.

Cognitive (IQ) and Adaptive Behaviour Assessment (Child or Adult)

  • Clinical intake interview and screening questionnaires as required.
  • Cognitive (IQ) assessment (e.g., WPPSI-IV, WISC-V, WAIS-IV) and Vineland-3.
  • Integrated evaluation of cognitive and adaptive functioning.
  • An extensive written report with recommendations and feedback.

Adaptive Behaviour Assessment – Vineland-3 (Child or Adult)

  • Clinical intake interview (parent/caregiver where appropriate).
  • Completion of Vineland-3 assessing communication, daily living and social functioning.
  • An extensive written report with recommendations and feedback.

Learning Assessment (Child or Adult)

  • Clinical intake interview (parent/caregiver where appropriate).
  • Academic and processing assessment (e.g., WIAT-4, CTOPP-2).
  • Identification of learning strengths and difficulties.
  • An extensive written report with educational recommendations and feedback.

Cognitive (IQ) and Learning Assessment (Child or Adult)

  • Clinical intake interview (parent/caregiver where appropriate).
  • Cognitive (IQ) assessment (e.g., WISC-V, WAIS-IV) and academic testing (e.g., WIAT-4).
  • Integrated evaluation of cognitive and learning profiles.
