Deon Dowdy

Counsellor

Deon has for the past 6 years been a therapeutic clinician and counsellor, predominantly focused on social justice working with both victims and perpetrators of Domestic Family Violence, Aggression and Addiction. He has a personnel interest and connection with those who have been and continues to serve on the frontline with ADF or as first responders. Deon utilises many environments, group, face-to face, telehealth and EAP, taking advantage of serval modalities to develop personnel plans. Deon is a strong advocate for those who are caregivers for people with disabilities or chronic diseases. He identifies with those who live in remote and rural locations, seeking support with issues which impact the wellbeing of family and ourselves.

Deon understands it is not a simple process to resolve problems to make changes, it’s Deon’s resolve to aid clients to develop personal tools and strategies which strengthen resilience, self-awareness, sense of purpose and value, through healthy self-care and work-life balance. Insuring, all have the opportunity to strive for their own greatest potential.
