Rita Barbara is a Level 2 Registered Counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). She is an empathetic counsellor who has been working with people to help them meet their goals and is passionate about helping her clients achieve their full potential and a better quality life. Rita is caring, compassionate and nurturing in her approach to supporting her clients. She is skilled in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Mindfulness Practice. She is very passionate about understanding exactly what barriers may be present in a person’s life and empowering them to work through the challenges.
She came to New View Psychology in 2017 with over 15 years experience in voluntary pastoral counselling, during which time she helped those dealing with financial hardship with diverse issues including grief, crisis situations, marriage struggles and family issues and job related stress.
Rita can also speak Maltese.

Types of Treatment Modalities Used:
Rita draws on several therapies, most notably, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focussed Therapy and Mindfulness. She also uses a Client-centred approach where she carefully selects a specialised modality for each of her client’s individual needs.
Rita is a Telehealth Counsellor and currently offers sessions using Zoom or Phone to clients from all parts of Australia.
